Privacy Policy

VoceStudio (“we,” “us”) helps singing and voice students keep a notebook of their lesson recordings. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, email jute@vocestudio.app.
What we collect
- Your email address, used to create your account and send one-click sign-in links. We do not store passwords.
- Audio recordings you add (by uploading a file or importing from Google Drive). Your recordings are stored in your own Google Drive, and we generate transcripts and topic breakdowns from them.
- Basic usage data needed to operate the service, such as your monthly processing minutes and error logs.
Google Drive access
VoceStudio uses Google Drive to store your lesson audio, so connecting Drive is required to add lessons. We request the drive.filescope only. This grants access solely to files you open with VoceStudio and files VoceStudio itself creates — never your entire Drive. VoceStudio creates a folder named “VoceStudio” in your Drive and stores your lesson audio there; that copy in your Drive is the main, lasting copy of your recordings. You can disconnect Drive at any time from your account, and revoke access from your Google Account permissions. If you disconnect Drive, your transcripts and notes stay available, but audio playback pauses until you reconnect Drive.
How we use your recordings
We process your recordings only to provide the service: transcribing the audio and segmenting it into topics. To do this we share the audio and transcript with the processing providers below. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your recordings to train our own models.
We currently use:
- Speech-to-text: ElevenLabs, to transcribe audio.
- Topic segmentation:Google’s Gemini API, to organize transcripts into topics.
We share with each provider only what it needs to do its step — never for advertising or any unrelated purpose. How each provider handles the data it receives is governed by its own privacy policy (ElevenLabs, Google). Google does not use the transcripts we send to its Gemini API to train its models. ElevenLabs, which handles the actual audio, may retain it in line with its own privacy policy (a zero-retention option exists only on its enterprise plans), so we cannot make the same no-training promise there — we encourage you to read its policy.
We may change these providers as the service evolves and will update this list when we do. When you add a lesson, a working copy of the audio passes through our servers only to transcribe it and upload it to your Google Drive, and is deleted once processing finishes. Your Google Drive holds the lasting copy of the recording.
Where your data is stored
- Audio recordings — in your own Google Drive.
- Transcripts and topic breakdowns — on our servers.
- Account email and usage data — in our database.
- A temporary copy of your audio — on our servers only while a lesson is being processed, then deleted.
Because your audio stays in your own Google Drive, you keep it even if you stop using VoceStudio or the service is discontinued. The transcripts and notes we generate live on our servers, which are located in the European Union.
Data retention and deletion
Transcripts and topic breakdowns are kept on our servers until you delete the lesson or close your account. Deleting a lesson also removes the audio files VoceStudio created in your Google Drive; if a file cannot be removed automatically, it stays in your VoceStudio Drive folder and you can delete it yourself. To delete your account and associated data, email jute@vocestudio.app and we will remove it.
Security
Your recordings live in your own Google Drive, under the limited drive.file permission you grant — not in a shared store of ours. The transcripts and topic breakdowns we keep are private and scoped to your account. Your audio and other data travel over encrypted (HTTPS) connections, and sign-in uses one-time email links sent the same way. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
Children
VoceStudio is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
